Occasionally, Luottokunta receives information from payment card issuers on cases where payment card details are suspected to have fallen into the wrong hands, for example, as the result of a data breach. When such cases occur, a preventive security block is placed on the cards in question to prevent any further misuse. Monitoring services are available 24 hours a day.

The payment card security block service receives notifications concerning payment card security blocks and implements payment card security blocks. The service helps to prevent the potential misuse of lost, copied or stolen payment cards.
