Monitoring of authentication processes for payment card transactions enables the detection of cases where a copy of a payment card or a lost or stolen payment card is being used. The monitoring service enables quick action to limit the financial losses caused by payment card misuse.

Luottokunta monitors authentication requests sent by Visa and MasterCard. Occasionally, Luottokunta receives information from payment card issuers on cases where payment card details are suspected to have fallen into the wrong hands, for example, as the result of a data breach. When such cases occur, a preventive security block is placed on the cards in question to prevent any further misuse. Monitoring services are available 24 hours a day.

Risk management

Risk management services handle, for example, reclaim letters sent by cardholders. Luottokunta cooperates with international payment industry organisations to investigate suspected cases of payment card misuse.

The payment card security block service receives notifications concerning payment card security blocks and implements payment card security blocks.
