Visa is accepted as a payment method in Finland, abroad and online. The Visa payment card can be used for cash withdrawals from ATM machines here in Finland, and from ATM machines with a Visa logo abroad.

Luottokunta cooperates with banks as a service provider and issuer of Visa payment cards. Visa cards are customised according to banks’ requirements, so all Visa cards vary to some extent. The old Visa combination card which includes the bank card and credit card features will gradually be replaced by the new credit-debit combination card. More detailed information on this change is available at your own bank.

Traditional Visa cards have been payment cards with fixed spending limits and payment periods, and have included an optional credit feature. However, most banks already offer new and simpler types of credit card solutions that are more convenient to use. Credit cards come with a monthly minimum repayment option. This way you can pay your credit card purchases in instalments that suit you, and not the whole amount due on the invoice at once.
The annual fee for a Visa payment card is charged either once a year to your Visa bill, or alternatively as a monthly charge to the cardholder's bank account. Annual fees vary from bank to bank.
